Thirty Day Discipleship Training Multiplies Across the Nation

You would never know it by the faces of the Discipleship Training school students in this picture. They are in one of the spiritually toughest areas in the world, West Bengal, India. The state of West Bengal has a population of more than 80 million, 75% Hindu, 23% Muslim and less than 1% Christian. That, like so many other things in India is changing. There is a fresh move of the Holy Spirit taking place all across north India.
It is almost unimaginable how quickly the STDT Discipleship Training schools have multiplied. In 2006 with only half the year complete more than 1000 students have already graduated from 20 schools. Every school is now averaging 50 students per school where there used to be only 20. There is a hunger for the Word of God like never before!
It is estimated that more than 20 million believers have been added to the Indian church in the last 6 years. Another 75 million is expected to be added in the next ten years. While the church in India has been good at adding believers and starting small churches it has not been good at making disciples. All agree that UNLESS DISCIPLES ARE MADE THERE WILL BE NO SUSTAINABLE GROWTH OF THE CHURCH.

Kishan Masih, an STDT student gives his testimony - I began to share with non-Christians from the Word of God, what I learned from the STDT. In the process 13 men and women received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and 10 people took Water Baptism. All of them came from a Hindu background. After the STDT God has blessed me and I can now lead many people to Him. When I prayed one lady who was very sick and had spent all her money on treatment was healed. Supreme Task International has the team, the strategy, and the materials to train more than 25,000 disciples in the next five years in places never before reached with the Gospel. The only thing lacking is a commitment for the necessary resources.
WE ARE CONVINCED THE ONLY THING THAT CAN STOP THIS MOVE IS IF CHRISTIANS DO NOTHING. Already this year we have faced the postponement or suspension of more than 20 STDT due to a financial shortfall.
Consider this fact. In America it takes millions of dollars to reach HUNDREDS of people. In India, millions of dollars will reach MILLIONS of people. Every dollar becomes an investment that reaps a hundred fold return.
Discipleship Training is happening at a pace we could not have imagined five or ten years ago. The response is incredible. Our response should be the same.
